Archaic variant of Katumin, which derived from the Ahmestrahan language, said by the Mormons to be the ancestor of later Egyptian languages. Joseph Smith has the description, 'the name of a royal family in the female line', indicating that it could also be used as a surname. The definition given was "descent from her by whom Egypt was discovered while it was under water", being a reference to Egyptus.
